 Dear Parents

INFORMATION ON THE PREPARATION FOR CONFIRMATION

Children who have been baptised and are in Year 2 or older are eligible to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. 

The Sacrament will be celebrated this year on Saturday 18^th September with Rite of Confirmation ceremonies being held at both St. Mary’s Toukley and St. Brendan’s Lake Munmorah.

 ·         Enrolments are now open. There are four ways you can enroll:

1) Parish Office at Noraville (8.30 – 4.30 Monday to Friday).

2) St. Brendan’s School Office (place enrolment form and money in envelope clearly marked with child’s name and “Confirmation”). 

3) Online - Complete form online by following link at the end of this page

4) At the Adult Education Session on Wednesday 4^th August (ring and register name beforehand on 4396.1620).  Proof of Baptism is required for enrolment.  Enrolments will not be taken after Wednesday 4^th August 2004. 

·         Cost of programme is $15.00 per child or $25.00 per family and must be paid at the time of enrolment.

No one is excluded from any Sacramental Programme due to cost.  Simply ring me at my office. 

·         Adult Education Session for parents is compulsory – a parent must attend one of the sessions.  Two sessions will be held, one at the Mass Centre at St. Brendan’s Lake Munmorah on Wednesday 4^th August at 3.00p.m. and the second at St. Mary’s Church, Noraville on Wednesday 4^th August at 7.30p.m.   

·         Preparation Groups.  Four classes will be held once per week commencing the week beginning 16^th August.  Attendance at each class is compulsory for parent and child.  There will be options as regards days/nights of the week, times and venues.  You must complete all four sessions in the same group.  In addition to the four classes, one evening  practice session will be held in the church.  Date to be advised. 

·         Booking into preparation groups will be done at the Adult Education Session. 

·         You may organise your own group of friends and nominate a group leader (please let me know in advance if you are planning to do this).  The group can meet in your home if you wish.   

·         Group Leaders.   Please ring 4396.1620 or email me at sacraments@iprimus.com.au if you would like to lead a group or would like information on what’s involved.  Group Leaders Workshop will be held on Wednesday 11^th August at 7.00p.m. at St. Mary’s. 

·         If you have special circumstances, you may prepare your child at home by yourself.  Please contact me for details.   

·         Please bring your children to Children’s Liturgy Mass on Saturday at 5.00p.m. at St. Brendan’s or Sunday at 9.00a.m. at St. Mary’s during the course of the preparation programme.
